Safety, Care & Holding
At Libélula, safety, care, and ethical holding are not add‑ons — they are the foundation of how our retreats are offered.
We understand that deep inner work requires more than intention alone. It requires clear structure, experienced facilitation, consent, and a container that supports the nervous system before, during, and after ceremony.
Every element of our retreats is designed to create conditions where participants can engage with the work feeling supported, respected, and resourced.
A Thoughtful Screening Process
All guests move through a careful application and screening process before attending a retreat.
This is not about judgment or exclusion.
It is about ensuring that the retreat is appropriate, supportive, and aligned for where you are at in your life and healing journey.
The process allows us to:
understand your background and intentions
assess readiness for ceremonial work
identify any additional support that may be needed
ensure the group container is cohesive and safe
We believe this mutual discernment is an essential part of ethical retreat holding.
Trauma‑Informed & Nervous‑System Aware
Our retreats are held within a trauma‑informed container.
This means we prioritise:
choice and personal agency
clear communication and boundaries
respect for individual pacing
awareness of nervous system regulation
Guests are never pushed, pressured, or required to share or participate beyond their capacity. Rest, grounding, and self‑regulation are always honoured as part of the work.
Choice, Consent & Personal Agency
Choice and consent are central to every aspect of the retreat experience.
Participants are encouraged to listen to their own bodies and inner guidance throughout the journey. There is no single “right” way to move through a retreat, and no expectation to have a particular experience.
Our role is to hold the container, not to direct personal outcomes.
Experienced & Attentive Team
Retreats at Libélula are held by an experienced, multidisciplinary team, including Indigenous ceremonial leaders, facilitators, bodyworkers, and integration support.
The team works collaboratively to:
hold ceremony with clarity and integrity
support participants emotionally and physically
notice when additional care or grounding is needed
ensure no one is left alone with what arises
Support is available throughout the retreat, both formally and informally.
Integration as an Ongoing Process
We view integration as essential, not secondary.
Time for rest, reflection, and grounding is woven throughout the retreat — not reserved only for the end. Guests are supported in making sense of their experiences in ways that feel embodied, practical, and sustainable.
Guidance for post‑retreat integration is also offered, recognising that the work continues beyond the time on the land.
Our Commitment
We are committed to holding retreats with:
care rather than intensity
integrity rather than performance
depth supported by safety
If you have questions, concerns, or would like to explore whether a retreat is right for you, we welcome you to reach out.
